The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers and guided by the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

American Red Cross Endowment Fund

The American Red Cross Endowment Fund was established in 1910 to allow monies to be invested in perpetuity, which would generate a permanent and lasting source of income to fund and sustain our mission as a humanitarian corporation.

How Chapter’s Participate in the Endowment

Within the American Red Cross Endowment Fund, Chapters each have their own endowment accounts. The Endowment Fund is invested as a single entity, but chapters who receive endowed gifts are the sole beneficiary of the proceeds from the endowed gifts.
